Our Silence About Animal Abuse Promotes Abuse of Humans
Comments by Sierra Nelson - 24 Aug 2003

Hi All,

I have a big question. I realize that people are going to choose to continue to "eat meats." My question is how do "we vegans and veggies" get past the incredible agony of explaining to people what goes on in animal farms and slaughter houses daily.

I go to explain this to people and they hesitate to believe this "abuse" is going on. I am finding difficulty explaining and painting the picture of these poor killed animals. I get physically sick and emotionally am struggling.

I prefer to block it out of my mind.............I know that to do the right thing I must get over this. I know that I am not alone. Are there some of us that have experienced these same mental panic and anguish that goes with this.

How did you desensitize your self enough to be able to tell and explain these things. I would very much like some help in this area. If you help me there will be others that will be helped also.

Thank you,

Sierra...............in Minnesota
