Dear Gabby:

It is always better to write letters to the editor and to elected officials about current issues that are being discussed in the public eye.

As an example, there has been a lot of discussion about global warming, and almost everyone ducks the intensive farming industry that produces more greenhouse gases the all forms of transportation put together.

This also gives you a way of speaking about the horrible way the animals are being treated.
