Animals as Food
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 27 Oct 2009

Dear Bianca:

Thank you for writing.

The answer to your question is not so much one of being healthier, but one of being compassionate, for if it is truly compassionate, it will also be healthier.

First of all, the male chicks of egg laying hens are not used for meat. They are either suffocated to death in trash bags of ground up alive to feed back to the hens. 'Spent" egg laying hens are killed, and their flesh in only good for processing. And, in no case can their slaughter be considered humane or compassionate.

So, our answer is, NO!, it is not ok to raise any animal for food.

And as for the use of dogs in shows and sports, we believe that all forms of animal exploitation are wrong.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
