I agree with Janet. Boycotts have had impact in past campaigns for lots of issues (including South Africa), so it might help end the seal hunt if the Canadian government sees that it’s hurting their businesses negatively.
It’s just one more tactic to use to help animals.
Remember the “don’t buy Canadian seafood” campaign for the last couple of years? I personally thought that was a bit hypocritical for vegans to sign on to, but I know lots of vegans who did. I’m assuming they signed on because they thought boycotts might work, not because they were “giving up” eating Canadian seafood.
