Christian Perfection
By Frank and Mary Hoffman - 13 Jun 2012

Dear Steve:

We reviewed the links you sent us, and will do our best to respond.

After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, which brought about the Fall, every other human being was sinful; so there is strong evidence to suggest that we are all born in sin, or at least with the genetic disposition for choosing sin over God’s heavenly will. Thus, we don’t believe it is just something learned after.

The part about seeking our salvation is correct as far as it goes, but a very important component is being left out: our repentance and whole hearted desire to sin no more and live in accordance with God’s heavenly will. Remember, as Paul wrote, we are saved for good works, and as James says, faith without works is useless, but I will show you my faith through my works.

This is all part of the Christian Perfection that Wesley wrote about.

We hope that this helps.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
