These past few days I have been thinking a lot about the same topic we have been discussing in our e-mails. I usually find in hunting and deer management books comments about hunters and animal-rights activists and radical anti-hunters confrontations. I have found that also the people involved in hunting are terrified and angry with extreme conservationists that are trying to eliminate their "hunting rights".
Many of the people I deal with are involved and worried about our land and the welfare of animals, they also love and admire animals, and take a lot of care with their deer and habitat. In many cases the recovery of healthy deer herds and well managed habitats had been possible because of their support and hard work. I really think that the same posture of intolerance between both groups had happened throughout the whole of mankind's History, where different religion, culture, skin color, or whatever difference, makes people fight each other, hate or even kill the "opponent".
For the sake of, not only the deer preservation, but many other species that are endangered or in near extinction, we should stop fighting each other and work shoulder to shoulder on a solution, and we all should be more tolerant and comprehensive with each other methods or ideas. We should not be opponents, we all are worried about the same issues, and on both sides there are good, religious, honest and intelligent people working hard for the same ideal and goal.
