Thank you for your email and for posing the question/argument that the
states’ wildlife management people use to encourage people to hunt, which
brings in revenue from licenses, but their argument is totally incorrect and
contradictory.
In actuality, just as deer increase their population when there is more
food, they will decrease their population when there is less food due to
over population or for other reasons. By killing the deer, they will only
increase the population again the following year.
As an example, we live in a 2,000 acre development where there is no hunting
and we have watched the deer population for the past 40 years, and as more
homes are built, we see fewer deer, and no human has ever “managed” their
population.
