Did Abel or Cain Offer a Lamb in Sacrifice to God?
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 9 Dec 2009

Dear Van:

Thank you very much for your in-depth discussion of sacrifice and killing and of what role God played, if any. We agree with your analytical questioning.

We have written a short paper on Living in the Will Rather than the concessions of God, which we believe you would enjoy reading and hopefully comment upon.

We don't believe that God ever wanted us to kill or eat any animals, and it is one of the major reasons that we are vegan. To kill, or participate in the killing by buying and eating the products of animal suffering and death hardens the hearts of people and causes them to lose empathy for the animals. God wants us to have a soft heart that feels the pain and suffering of the whole of creation, so that we would help do whatever we could to end it, and bring God's heavenly will to earth as it is in heaven.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
