Does God Want Us To Eat Meat?
By Hector - 26 Jan 2011

Frank And Mary and everyone trying to defend vegetarianism with the Bible they have not read:

You wrote "It is never a Godly choice when our choices cause an innocent third party (human or animal) to suffer, and it is not being judgmental when this is brought to people's attention."

I recommend to all. DO NOT quote the bible, unless you have read the WHOLE thing, or at least the WHOLE book you're trying to extract meaning from. Anyone can take one verse out of context very easily just to suit their own motives, but the fact remains that God was ready for your adulterated responses and has a direct and very clear word for the treatment of animals as food.

1 Timothy 4: 1-5

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

That's not to say you were wrong if you didn't know. You would not have been held accountable since you did not know the truth. But as jesus said to the pharisees after saying through parable that they were blind in:

John 9: 41

Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
