In Reference to the Poem: DONíT QUIT
My name is Andrea, and I am 32 years old. It was not until recently that I had to recite a famous poem fully memorized that I thought about a poem that I had learned in the 6th grade. The only catch was that it had to have a named author.
I have loved the poem Don't Quit for years and have never forgotten the only three verses that were thought to me. After finding out that the author was an unknown author, I was very disappointed because this poem really meant a lot to me; so I did some Internet investigating and for your site. I believe that this is your poem because I have written poetry every since I was 7 years old, and have entered many in contests, especially online and could not afford to pay to have my own work acknowledged.
Nevertheless, the three verses that I learned many years ago has inspired me in life mainly because I have suffered with a bone disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease) and the poem just does something to me when I say it to myself. It pushes me to not quit. However, Mrs. Zimmerman, I love your true original version even better then the one I was thought, and I will proudly recite your poem and give you the credit that you deserve in my Oral Interpretation class next Thursday.
Thank you very much for the opportunity to have a reason to keep striving.
