Establishing the Rights of Animals in Law and Human Consciousness

Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 7 Jun 2006

Dear David:

We totally understand your position on changing people, globally, and we agree once a person is willing to listen. For many years we tried to do the same thing you are doing, but we had very little success. However, once we began to use our “shock therapy” approach (not like PETA’s), we found a lot of people who were willing to listen, learn more, and do something to make a difference. And the most important thing, in our opinion, is that we’re attracting a lot of teenagers, who will be the ones who will make a real difference in the future.

We agree that welfare will never move society toward abolition. It placates the people into thinking everything is now ok, when it is only getting worse. However certain aspects of it, have proven to be effective, such as the felony cruelty laws, which give us a base upon which to expand the scope.

So, the question is, how do we reach more people who will listen and make positive changes?

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
