Establishing the Rights of Animals in Law and Human Consciousness

Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 12 Jun 2006

Dear David:

The present rate for the number of slaughtered animals in the US is 19,000 per minute, which equates to 1,140,000 per hour and 10,000,000,000 per year.

We agree that rights are the only way to make a permanent change, but we need to find a way to peacefully expand our audience if we are ever going to succeed. During the slow picking away at cruelty that the Animal Rights movement has been doing over the past 25 years, the number of slaughtered animals has steadily increased. However, the Animal Rights movement has definitely raised the public awareness to the plight of animals, but it has not been able to cut through the public indifference, which is where we come in.

Our Abolition goals are the same. The challenge is, how do we implement it in a way that will ripple through society?

We also want to think about the catch title, "So You Think Saving Animals Saves Animals?" a little more.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
