Establishing the Rights of Animals in Law and Human Consciousness
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 26 Sep 2006

Dear Debbie:

We’ll think about explaining this a little more.

Personally, we wouldn’t consider companion animals in a loving home to be used or exploited, even of they are limited in their "rights". There is a mutual love between the animals and humans in that situation. And we understand about “beasts of burden”, and unfortunately most of them are being abused. Euthanasia, as you describe it, is an act of love, and not an act of being destroyed by human greed.

How would you suggest distinguishing between the two different situations?

We really want to find a way to move people who truly care about animals to help solve the root problem.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
