I feel it is indeed good when we can live in each moment , having confidence that we can fulfill what is required of us, and not expecting anything from others, especially perhaps in relationships, whether personal or in general. By expecting nothing, our own faith and capability is exercised and strengthened; and we experience the enrichment of relating out of fellowship and appreciation, and not out of ‘need’...
Of course, others do “give” to us; but not demanding or expecting leaves us so free to expand in awareness and generosity of spirit, knowing also that if we are able to help someone, there’s no ‘law’ that says that it should be that same person who ‘returns the favour’!
