Re: Genesis 9:1-4 - A Commentary on God's Concession to Eat Flesh by Frank L. Hoffman

Genesis 1 portrays God as giving humans plant-based diets. Period. End of chapter. Then, along comes Noah who rides out the Flood in a boat he built for his family and a few selected others - including other animals (not previously eaten by Noah and his family). Then, they get out on dry land and ... oh, no plants. They didn't pot up any plants, and there ARE long fasts anyway - look at the long fasting traditions in the Eastern Churches where they make a point that we CAN go vegan for long periods of time (e.g. during Lent).

According to the narrative, they didn't eat the animals in the Ark, despite having only PERSONS in the Ark. But where's the food?
