Hunting
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 14 Oct 2008

Dear Don:

Thank you very much for writing and for your questions.

We approached the hunting issue not so much as a conservation issue as you seem to, but from the compassion standpoint, and what it does to the human soul and spirit when we harden our hearts to the point of being able to take the life of another feeling and living being who wants to live and enjoy life just as much as we do.

We have lived in a no hunting area for nearly 30 years and there are deer living all around us, and we have never seen any overpopulation problems. When left alone, deer seem to do a much better job of conservation than we humans do with our intervention.

From a Biblical position, it really boils down to the difference between God's creation and heavenly intent, where there is no death, and that of the concessions that God has reluctantly allowed to exist in this fallen world. You might want to read, :Living in the Will Rather than the Concessions of God: http://www.all-creatures.org/discuss/living.html

We hope that this helps answer your questions, and we look forward to your further comments and/or questions.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
