David Ludwig: A Case of Violent Results from Being Taught Violence
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 15 Nov 2006

Dear Jeanette:

We don't have to understand evil in order not to do evil things.  What we need to learn to do is live in a state of unconditional love with God and the whole of His creation.  If we love everything and everyone then we would naturally do everything in a loving manner and not resort to violence.

In a similar light, we don't need to know how horrible factory farms are, not to realize that animal would have to suffer in some way to be killed served on someone's plate.  That's common sense.  The very fact that animals are being killed for pleasure and/or profit is proof that the animals are not being loved.

We never said that animals eating other animals is evil or even sinful.  What we said is that such acts are counter to the creation intent of God.  God's creation and heavenly intent is that there is no death.  In the beginning both humans and other animals were given only plant foods to eat.  The killing began with the corruption of the earth.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
