This is a very good article. God's intent with providing manna was to lead them away from the sinful ways of the world and back into a peaceful vegan lifestyle.

Unfortunately, most of them turned away from the peace God was... offering them at every opportunity they had, and the same thing is going on all around the world, even to this very day.
