Dear Frank and Mary Hoffman,
I came across my poem about Pretty on your site today. Thank you. I loved her dearly. I found her behind the Federal Reserve building in Foggy Bottom, Wash DC. She had been cruelly abused. Probably six or seven months old. Her little body was broken in many places. I left work and hurried home with her. Actually to my wonderful vet. She healed in part. Not the "right" shape. We weren't even sure she would heal enough to walk. She eventually did. I had to express her bladder for her several times a day. I worked the timing around a bit as I had to work. And for the next 14 and a half years, external activities centered around her schedule. I was so blessed. However, the new rescues that joined us may not have always felt blessed. She could be a real terror. I miss her.
