Dear Alex:
Thank you for your candid comments.
The reason that our fear interferes with our vision of the Lord, is because fear and love cannot exist in the same spiritual place. The Lord is perfect love, and perfect love casts out all fear. The problem is that when we remain bound to the world, we build upon our worldly fears and leave little room for the perfect love of Jesus. It is only when we spiritually rise above our earthly confines that we leave our fears behind, and behold the glory of the Lord, even while still physically alive.
