In Reference to: 8 May 2016 - Mother’s Day Heavenly Reflection

Dear Janine:

Thank you very much for your encouragement.

If we pause and think for a moment, we realize the human beings have been mothering the other species babies for thousands of years. For example, Nathan told David about a poor man who cared for a lamb and considered her like his own daughter (yes, men can mother, too).

And, when we realize that God created both human beings and the other animals as nehfesh khahyaw or living souls or beings with no distinction other than physical appearance it is not hard to understand that other species would also care for the babies of other species.

The breakdown occurred when humans started eating other species, and particularly the babies of those species, which is what most of the meat in our markets is.

We hope this answers your questions, and we look forward to hearing back from you.
