They Were Already Dead
Comments by Ray - 13 Feb 2009

Here is a conversation that I just had with a person that I've known since 1985, and I lived with her from 1985 until 1990.

In 1991 I became a vegetarian.

She wrote: As for the Veggie thing I'm sure my Doctors would love for me to become one but I am not and I hope I never have to debate the question, because it would take me back to evolution and my spiritual beliefs. I would not knowingly hurt anyone or anything on purpose. We even help our little eight legged creatures back outside where they belong except for flies.

I responded: That is very confusing to me, since choosing to eat animals just because you like how their flesh taste is harming animals deliberately. Do you believe that only humans have eternal souls? I believe that all animals have the same God consciousness (i.e. soul), not just the human form of animal.

She responded: I didn't kill them they were already dead.

Which I responded: Paying somebody to kill an animal by buying one at the store is the same culpability as killing them yourself. If you hire a "Hit-Man" to kill somebody, your legal crime carries a greater penalty than the Hit-Man's crime.

For every dead animal you buy, a live one is killed to replace it.

Surely you understand this?

That was several days ago, and I have not heard from her since. Can you believe that people actually think that they have no responsibility for the animals that they eat because the animals were already dead when they bought them at the store?

Are people that stupid or willing to bury their heads in the sand and rationalize away all their accountability to the beings that they harm?

I'm always amazed at this kind of ignorance.

Why did we get sent to the stupid people's planet?

Ray
