Whose Life Is More Important?
Comments by Dana - 3 Jul 2009

There is no doubt that our egos have caused our demise, that is what sin is all about. pride brings pain, suffering, the list could go on and on. There is no doubt that God loves his creatures - in His original intent man was not supposed to eat them but to be pals with them.

That does not mean, however, that a chimp or any animal can evolve into a steward of creation - that was never God's intent. animals were created as animals, humans were created 'in the image of God'. God put Adam and Eve in charge, and they blew it, as we all have with our sinful, willful behavior.

I do not think it is helpful to animals to think of them as more than what they are - I think it is unfair as they need to be protected and loved, which was God's original intent. there is an order to creation and all in it - recognizing this order is key to bringing about justice for animals.
