"Those of us who advocate love, compassion and respect for all living
beings can work for these objectives on two levels. First, the physical; ie. letter-writing, displays, demonstrations,
leafletting, stalls, talks, living cruelty-free lives ourselves, setting
up a group or project, helping and supporting the cause in any way we
can. Secondly, the non-physical; ie. prayer and thought. We've all grown
up with prayers, but do we realise the power of our thoughts? These
create powerful energy and this is multiplied when several people
radiate the same thought. Collective beliefs and thoughts can exert a
strong influence on events and on people who unconsciously pick them up
and absorb them. This can be powerfully positive. Every one of us can
send healing, loving thoughts to every sentient being in need and
anywhere where there is pain, suffering or misery." "Isn't it strange (but predictable) how those who oppose animal rights often accuse us of using 'emotional' arguments; as if there's something wrong with having emotions!" Go on to 2001 - FoL Newsletter excerpts by Clare and Tom
