Sir - The most spurious case yet for the continuation of fox hunting
must surely hail from the "Clergy in field sports" lobby. This "Kill a fox for Christ" campaign will dismay and disgust
humanitarians already disillusioned by ecclesiastical failure. Most clergymen appear intelligent, compassionate and opposed to the
obvious anti-Gospel of hunting with hounds. Many more are thoroughly
indifferent towards any cause for bettering the lot of animals. Either way, it is the reticence of clerics in tune with their moral
sensibilities, that allows Christian bloodsports enthusiasts to sully
