In our experience, the finest quality dates come from a small farm in California, and we order ours directly from them. They offer a long list of date varieties, and they are shipped in boxes of 5, 10, 11, and 15 pounds. Here is a description of The Date People in their own words:

“We farm 10 acres of dates in the southern California desert. We are committed to providing the highest quality dates in their most natural state and at affordable prices. Our fruit is never heated, frozen, or altered from its natural state in any way.”

“Dates grown on our farm are free from animal based fertilizers.”

This is a very important point: The Date People grow their fruit veganically.

“They are extremely nutritious, higher in potassium than bananas, also rich in iron, calcium and vitamins. If you are looking to balance your acid/alkaline state, dates are more alkaline than almost any other food.”
