This is extremely important:
Today – Monday 13 November 2006 – is the day the Animal Enterprise
Terrorism Act (AETA) H.R.4239/S is likely to be voted on.
Please contact your Representative in Washington now and urge that
they vote against this Act (H.R.4239/S) that has already been passed by the
Senate.
This Act would let animal abusers continue their abuse because anyone
who would try to uncover the truth could be labeled a terrorist, when in
fact the animal abusers are the terrorists of the animals! The result
would be an increase in the mistreatment and suffering of animals, since
there would be no one permitted to peacefully uncover the rampant
corruption and violation of existing animal welfare laws.
As I mentioned in yesterday’s Blog, AETA is a very obvious attempt by
the powerful animal exploiting industries to silence those who try to
speak the truth and expose the horrendous conditions rampant behind
closed doors.
The fact that these exploiters have so easily gotten their way in the
Senate makes it imperative that you join those who care, and act now to
stop AETA from becoming law.
We faxed our Representative and briefly and politely said:
“H.R. 4239/S would take away civil liberties which are the foundation
of this country and is opposed by more than 100 non-violent animal
protection and social justice organizations, including the National
Lawyers Guild, Humane Society of the U.S., League of Humane Voters…”
