A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Michael Greger, M.D. – 12 March 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

Yesterday, Frank and I drove down to Rhinebeck, New York to hear an outstanding presentation by Michael Greger, M.D. who is an internationally recognized lecturer. We have learned so much from his other lectures that we have attended, and this one was no exception.

Frank and I appreciate the fact that Dr. Greger meticulously researches and documents his facts in logical order. Yet this brilliant expert, who has presented at the Conference on World Affairs, the National Institutes of Health, and the International Bird Flu Summit, manages to engage his audience with humor while speaking about very serious subjects.

Sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Vegetarian Society, this was a fascinating look at the history of pandemic viral infections. Where did all this start? The answer to this question is: From animal agriculture and the eating of animals.

All of the proceeds that Dr. Greger receives from his books and speaking engagements are donated to charity.
