On 23 October 2007, an evil, sneaky, demonic, satanic, egregious,
self-serving – I can go on and on – piece of legislation was passed
stealthily and unanimously by the U.S. House of Representatives.
This straight-from-hell piece of double-speak garbage introduced by
Ron Kind (D-Wisconsin), HR 767 is officially titled the Refuge Ecology
Protection, Assistance, and Immediate Response Act, or REPAIR Act. In
the October 22nd press release from Kind’s office promoting HR 767 he
mentioned only purple loosestrife, black locust, and zebra mussels as
examples of invasive species.
In reality this bill allows hunters and fish-killers to exterminate
feral cats and other animals in order to preserve more of the animals
that hunters want to kill! It’s just selective killing masquerading as
“environmental and economic.”
As one would expect, Representative Kind (what an oxymoron!) is
described in his campaign bio as “an avid outdoor recreation enthusiast,
hunter and fisherman,” who “loves to duck hunt on the Mississippi River,
and hunt turkey and deer up on the family [beef] farm with the boys.”
Kind (who is anything but) is a member of the Congressional Sportsman’s
Caucus.
