FACTS of the DAY – 29 June 2008
Have you been to FACTS of the DAY? If not, please visit:
http://www.all-creatures.org/fact/index.shtml
At FACTS of the DAY (For All Compassionate Teaching and Studies)
you’ll find well-documented information about animals, food, health, the
environment, and more each day. I just love this site; and I think you
will, too!
Here are just two examples of the many you’ll find covering a wide
range of subjects:
Few people probably realize that the U.S. government is exempt from
false advertising laws. Example: The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB)
was sued in 2002 for lying to consumers in its “Happy Cows”
advertising campaign. The promotion is designed to make people think
that California’s dairy cows live happy, natural lives and that they
are treated well, when in fact, the way that California’s dairy cows
are treated would warrant felony cruelty-to-animals charges if cows
were protected by the laws that protect dogs and cats.
Here is another example of a fact that probably few people are aware
of:
Besides excluding birds, rats, and mice used for research, current
Animal Welfare Act (AWA) regulations also exclude horses not used for
research, animals farmed for food, fur, or fiber, and other farm
animals.

"Joyful Curmudgeon"
An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the
same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the
world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true
peace and compassion.Blog
