A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Vegetarian Expo – 14 September 2008
By Mary T. Hoffman

The Albany Vegetarian Network has done it again! Their 2008 NY Capital Region Vegetarian expo was absolutely wonderful and a huge success!

On Friday, Frank and I attended the Speaker Recognition dinner (vegan, of course) held at the Saratoga Springs City Center, and on Saturday we enjoyed our 2nd annual Vegetarian Expo.

This Expo is the first in the Capital Region area (of New York State) to bring together and promote the global health benefits of green sustainable living, environmental awareness, and compassion for animals and all beings while highlighting their relationship to a plant-based diet. We listened and talked to top experts on health, nutrition, animal concerns, and green living, and enjoyed food sampling – all free of charge. There were numerous exhibitors, as well as a children’s corner.

I could go on and on about these exciting events, but I’ll just add that Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., M.D. and Ann Crile Esselstyn, his wife, were there again this year. For my review of Dr. Esselstyn’s book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, which includes many delicious recipes, please visit:
