A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Abuse at University of California, Davis – 28 March 2009
By Mary T. Hoffman

In 2007 the University of California, Davis (UCD) imprisoned and/or experimented on over 7600 non-human primates. The stress and abuse suffered by these sensitive, intelligent animals often causes them to lose their minds. Self-destruction, aggression, and severe and ongoing conditions of gastro-intestinal inflammation are some of the results of their caged existence.

Dear Chancellor Vanderhoef:

We have become aware of the warehousing and resultant abuse of the thousands of primates at the University of California, Davis.

Please use your office to put an end to this disturbing cruelty that also reflects poorly on the reputation of your facility.

We look forward to your reply. You can contact us at the address in this letter.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Frank L. Hoffman
