Shopping at the supermarket this week, I couldn’t help but wonder
how so many people could be buying hams for Easter – Resurrection
Day – when those who claim to be Christians celebrate Christ’s
rising from the dead.
How can these people ask for God’s blessings – while doing the
devil’s work? How can a “Christian” gorge on products of unspeakable
cruelty while celebrating the Prince of Peace? Some who call themselves
“Christian” find fault with the word “Easter” as a name for this
Holiday. They point out that “Easter” has pagan roots. Well, as long as
they are serving ham from pigs, who are routinely abused, and “Easter
eggs,” a product of cruelty to hens, how can they consider themselves to
be superior to “pagans”? As it says in Ecclesiastes 9:3 – “…the hearts
of the sons [and daughters] of men [and women] are full of evil, and
insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives.” So true!
Here are more scriptures to think about:
Isaiah 5:20
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Matthew 7:20-23
20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits.
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the
kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in
heaven.
22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not
prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your
name perform many miracles?'
23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart
from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'
