Summary:

  • Marr is a tiger conservationist. He travels to India to educate people there to prevent them from poaching and clearing forests.
  • Strongly believes that anyone is capable of making a difference, regardless of their age. "External pressure on a government is more powerful than internal pressure."
  • Believes tigers in the world are incredibly beautiful and that the world will be at a great loss if tiger goes extinct. As one conservationist said, "If we cant save even the tiger, what can we save?"

Opinion:

Mr. Marr

I greatly admire your efforts to help to save the tiger in its wild population. It is very important that there are people like you in this world who are willing to devote their lives to such an important cause. It is clear that you have a very thorough and realistic understanding of the tiger situation. You have an excellent scientific knowledge, which allows you to realize that to save the tiger we must preserve the entire ecosystem in which the tiger resides, including flora and fauna. You also recognize that human behavior will have the greatest influence on the fate of the tiger and other endangered species and therefore you spend much of your time educating and working with people. The work you do in the Indian villages is not only beneficial to the welfare of the tiger, but to the well being of the inhabitants of the village as well.

In this world today it is rare to see someone approach a cause with both passion, but also rationality and a thorough understanding of the situation. You are one of those people. I can see that you have already made great strides in your work, and I imagine that the effects of your efforts will extend into the next generation of conservationists that you have helped to inspire. Thank you again for helping to preserve the beauty of this planet, and for reminding us that we have but one Earth.
