Feedback from the students of Worthington Kilbourne High School, Columbus, Ohio - September 28, 2006

Student - 07

Summary:

  • Anthony Marr was an "animal activist". His main mission was to save the last remaining tigers in South East Asia. He showed us some very impressive slides with the decline of the tigers territory.
  • I was very please to find out that there used to be tigers in the "istan" area; I had never even guessed that there had been tigers there. Sadly, they are extinct now and the other tigers are following fast behind them. It is also sad to hear that two others are already extinct.
  • He also showed us a film of him the "Champions of the Wild" - that was a very good video; I liked seeing all the tigers. He seemed very informed about his topic.

Opinion:

Anthony Marr was a very interesting speaker. He wasnt like the others who were trying to get you to vote for them. He was just telling a story. He just wanted to inform us about the tigers current situation, and how close to extinction they are. He had a lot of info on the tigers, and his slides were very good. I especially liked his tiger camouflage slide; I could not see the tiger for a second.

I wish we would have time for questions and answers, but it is okay, because he had a very undebatable topic. The tigers must be saved; there is no way else to look at it. The trip to India seems like it would be very eye-opening, but also very dangerous especially with the malaria problem. He is fighting a loosing battle but I think that he can get more support. He can really stop and maybe reverse the decline of the tigers. I know and he knows that it will not be easy, but I am very glad that he is trying.
