RE: 19 May 2005 Kathies Diary
We enjoyed reading Kathie Williams observations. Her comment, Mr. Goose is still waiting for his family to hatch. Mrs. Goose is sitting on the same nest she had last year, came to mind today, Fathers Day, when we are writing this letter. We have observed what good fathers geese are (we humans can learn from them).
Kathie goes on to say, Speaking of geese I heard Pine Lake is allowed to shoot one goose every day until they get the idea of staying away from the big lake Guess that many geese can really be a problem. It is our understanding that geese cannot fly away when they are caring for their families.
There are humane methods of control. Help is available on www.canadageese.org . They have a section called Canada Geese as a Suburban Wildlife Issue.
