Letter from Laura Torres about the Loss of Beloved Companion Cat - 20 Feb 2006
We lost our cat Suki yesterday. After a few days of seeing that she was not eating as much, not playing as much and having some difficulty breathing, we took her to a Veterinary clinic. The x-rays showed that her lungs were surrounded by a lot of liquid. The prognosis was not good. The vet explained that it could be either a bad infection, a heart problem, or a tumor. The vet also said that the last two were the most likely causes.
However, given the facts, my 19 year old son (it was his cat) decided to put her to sleep. My 13 year old daughter and myself were there with my son and our cat. All three of us cried non-stop. Only my son stayed until the very end. He is very brave. However, we are all mourning deeply. We always knew we loved Suki a lot. But only after she passed away did we realize how much. I came to work today and have cried most of the day. My colleagues are very sweet. But this loss was so sudden and so unexpected that it really hit us right in the heart. My heart goes out for all pet owners who are going through the same experience. We love you Suki.

Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. We can well understand the sense of emptiness you feel because of Suki's death, as we've been through this too many times ourselves.
But be assures that Suki is now in the everlasting arms of God in heaven, where one day you will see her again.
If you would like us to publish a memorial story and photos of Suki in our
animal stories section, we'd be happy to do so.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
