Letter from Christina about Working to Help Horses - 23 Sep 2006

To whom it may concern,

My name is Christina. Over the past two days animal behaviour and welfare has been the topic of interest.

I have to admit, normally, I find the whole concept a bit boring but it has become clear to me that my flippant attitude is perhaps because I am lucky enough to live in environments (both in the UK and Ireland) that are so welfare orientated that I see/hear nothing in comparison to what is on your website.

In conjunction with being quite upset and distraught looking at the website I have to say I was also very intrigued as to how the photos and video clips were obtained. I do not imagine the people that take part in these hideous, unGodly acts are amiable to giving you these things.

Obviously I do have a special interest in the horse and even before I saw the rodeo section it was an interest of mine which I had contemplated investigating. Now, I find a strong desire lighting inside me to make a difference. Again, my only concern is that to document data you need access to all sorts of places, people etc and although I've successfully done that in the past it was all athletic performance related as that would be the area that I've spent most of my own time.

Your website has truly inspired me to take a colossal interest in welfare.

Take care,

Christina

Dear Christina:

Thank you very much for writing and for telling us about your journey.

Most of the photos and videos were taken undercover. The key to helping the animals is to expose the truth to as many people as we can in order to change public opinion, just as you have learned.

However, the long term goal to permanently helping the animals is to work for their legal rights, so that they will no longer be used, exploited, and killed by humans.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
