Letter from Arthur Poletti about God Does Not Eat Meat - 22 May 2007
Dear Frank & Mary:
I thought you would be interested in this message from someone that read the posting of my message to Congress titled: Slaughterhouses An Exit Strategy For The Meat Industry.
Here is the first message from this person and my response. Obviously this person has all the answers and you can be sure is a meat eater, probably wears fur coats, and is certain that God thinks this is okay.
I have noticed that a considerable number of people and organizations that promote and support the livestock industry have a chip on their shoulders and want to argue with insulting remarks and have no real concrete evidence to support the belief that murdering billions of animals throughout the world is okay with God.
Being a part of the mass murder of animals every day can cause people to say just about anything to justify their nasty habits and to save face.

It is unfortunate that you pretend to know the will of God when you have not understood the scriptures, or sought out to understand them. 1 Timothy 4:3 says, "Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."
All I have to say is that you may be one of the people who have yet to know the truth. If you seek you will find.

I have learned not to ridicule others religious beliefs or interpretations of verses written in the Bible. There is nothing to be gained by this.
My personal belief is that God represents the supreme symbol of kindness and life and love for all humans and creatures with a soul.
I am convinced that humans and animals can get along perfectly well without eating meat and humans can get along perfectly well without wearing products made from the body parts of different animals.
For these reasons I believe God wants factory farms and slaughterhouses to close. The opposite belief would be that God wants factory farms and slaughterhouses to stay open.
I can only suggest that you read the following publication posted on the www.all-creatures.org web site and maybe you will have a different opinion about what God originally intended for humans and animals to eat. http://www.all-creatures.org/sermons97/s6jun93.html
Frank and Mary, you can be sure that this person did not read the all creatures sermon I recommended and thinks she or he is a real authority about God and the Bible. Very defensive argumentative person that probably has a guilt complex and is offended by anyone that thinks God wants factory farms and slaughterhouses to close.
Unfortunately for animals the world is filled with meat eaters and hunters who can interpret the Bible any way they want for their own piece of mind.
It is extremely difficult for many meat eaters and hunters to admit they are wrong and they will go to great lengths to save face.
The only way this type of person is going to stop eating meat is if meat is removed from the food chain because of the catastrophic disasters the livestock industry has caused.
God knows who is genuine and who is a fraud.
For the sake of all animals.
