Letter from Patrick about Prioritizing Love for Man vs. Animals - 29 May 2007

Frank and Mary Hoffman,

I made comment in a prior e-mail ("chickens are animals and not humans  ... we should think first of the many dehumanized people around the world") without sufficient background information. I did not at all intend a comparison of what I am doing vs. what you are doing. I only sought to understand. (Ps 119:144, Prv 4:7).

I guess I just am from a different school of thought that believes in first changing the man from within so that he can change his behavior and relations with his environment (which is only possible by a vibrant relationship with his maker, God) as opposed to changing his behavior with the hope that it will change his inner person.

I have since visited your site and read a bit. All the best in your endeavor.

Patrick

Dear Patrick:

Ok! Let's start over.

The greatest of all commandments is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and might. And as Jesus says, if a person does this they fulfill the whole Law. To love God in this way, one must also love the whole of God's creation: humans, the other animals, and the world in which we all live. Isn't this also wisdom and knowledge?

We have also led many people to the Lord by exposing them to the truth, and by showing how these horrors are against God creation and heavenly intent. We have also led many back to Christ that had left because of the hardness they found in the churches.

Our common ground is really unconditional love. Don't you agree?

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
