Renowned philosopher Albert Schweitzer once said, ‘‘Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight’’.
This week please stop and think about the killing currently taking place in slaughterhouses everywhere. Think about the screams of terror as millions of protesting and innocent turkeys and piglets are sent to a violent and terrifying death.
These animals don’t want to die any more than we do.
If you wouldn’t eat your dog or cat for Christmas, why eat these animals? They are just as deserving of our kindness and compassion.
