Letter to The Johns
Hopkins University
Concerning Animal-Utilizing Research
8 March 2002
William Brody
President
242 Garland Hall
The Johns Hopkins University
3400 North Charles Street
Baltimore, MD 21218Dear Sir:
Having worked in animal-utilizing medical research, I know that there is duplication and waste, as well as barbaric cruelty, going on. The perpetuation of such self-serving science delays helping people.
Two ways to really help people and make a name for your university are the following:
- Pursue funding for non-animal utilizing research.
- Weed out duplication.
Toward this end, a good place to start is through an internal audit examining the issue of duplication within your own system and the medical research community.
We look forward to your reply and welcome any questions you may have.
Sincerely yours,
