A giftologist -- that's what each member of our family has become.

Every Christmas, each one seems to find the gift that is exactly what the person needs ... and they sacrifice to get it.  God's like that. On His gift is a little sticker that says "from God" and "to" -- there's your name. What you need most was very expensive -- but He loves you so much that He went ahead and bought it.

In God's own words from the Bible, "The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Ultimate security -- knowing for sure you'll to heaven when you die. Heaven's a gift you accept -- not something you earn with all your religion and goodness. It was paid for by Someone else -- by Jesus on His cross, dying the death penalty for your sins. Knowing where you'll be forever -- now that is "peace on earth."

lamb-rightThe purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
