A LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY
Poetry by M. Linda Steffey

If only I could touch our Earth
In just some tiny way
I'd try to heal her awful wounds
And the pain would go away..

I see and hear such sadness, Lord!
Unnecessary harm
It creeps among our cities, towns
And it is even on the farm..

Its' name is Greed and Selfishness
And Hate and Disrespect
It swallows up all peoples and has
Our children by the neck..

It is murder, it's an illness
Of our very heart and soul
For we have let the Devil in
And his Hate takes its toll..

We have the Will to lock him out
To choose the better way
You left it up to us, Lord
To pick right or wrong or pay..

Each Race must do some tiny part
A kind word, a deed
It would be a nice beginning
To sow a Loving Seed..

Treat all Life respectfully
And put an end to strife
Remember Schweitzer's philosophy?
"Reverence for Life"......
