Poetry by M. Linda Steffey

Wild things free and natural
Uncomplicated, too..
Unlike the fat and lazy ones
Man stuffs inside his zoo...

Freedom is a precious word
Each beast has long since known
Until the evils of mankind
The seeds of greed were sown!

How sad the beauty of most life
Our children may never see
Extinction all because of greed
They won't see creatures free!

Out there somewhere in oceans deep
Somewhere in woodlands dense
To never know a bullets pain
Or held back by a fence..

Our children won't know whale's song
Or see eagles on the wing
Appreciate tiger's beauty
Or listen to wolves sing...

I can't imagine Mother Earth
Without God's creatures wild
Protect them now for us today
And for tomorrow's child....
