Please don’t turn away from me
I need your eyes to see
How I suffer every day
as just a meal to be.
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your ears to hear
Silent screams of death too soon
In man my greatest fear.
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your voice to speak
Because I am unable
But bles-sed are the meek.
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your heart to feel
This pain I live, but I know
Your love for me could heal.
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your soul to be
Moved and touched and reaching for
WHY? Why am I not free?
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your hand to touch
Feel my fur and lonely heart
Compassion! I need much.
Please don’t turn away from me
I ask for not myself
Please! I have a little one
her only worth as pelt.
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your conscious mind
To seek and search and trouble
feel till my peace you find.
Please don’t turn away from me
I need your heartfelt prayer
Please ask God to help us all
Is He the only one who cares?
