AUTUMN DAYS
By M. Linda Steffey

Autumn is here and a
Fire brings cheer
To the chilly dusk that comes
Creeping..
Hot chocolate to drink
Bright stars above wink
While under warm blankets you're
Sleeping..

Pumpkins and squash
Golden corn to wash
Another fine harvest is done
A pale yellow moon
Haunting songs of a loon
While in heaps of leaves you have
Fun!

Frost under feet
Apple pies smell so sweet
Halloween soon will be here..
Little goblins, tall ghosts
Will have marshmallow roasts
And goblins will shake you with
Fear!

October skies
Are filled with the cries
Of geese flying off in the
Cold..
Chopping wood for a fire
So you can retire
And drink cider, all you can
Hold...

Bright Autumn days
Just a golden haze
Of memories your mind will
Store...
To recall some day
When snow's on it's way
And dream of when winter winds
Roar.......
