Bad leaders invariably surround themselves with ‘yes men’,
Such perverseness and folly, happens time and time again.
They don’t like being challenged, they like things to go their way,
They silence opposition, discredit what others say.

“The end justifies the means” is so often their approach,
Hence why they cross boundaries, and on others’ rights encroach.
They often work in secret, rejecting transparency,
And the positions some hold, they’ve got via skullduggery.

Many of them like the limelight, are charismatic too,
And usually have agendas, which they subtly pursue.
Many of them have issues, that is, baggage from the past,
That has them seeking power, that somehow, others’ lives will grasp.

Yes, they manipulate and control, can be deluded too,
And some even agree with you, yet, the opposite pursue.
Some are very likeable, and can appear genuine,
Hence why so many people, are eventually taken in.

They come in various forms, they act in various ways,
But you’ll find that each tyrant, from the truth, and what’s right, strays.
They do not like exposure, hide behind institutions,
They trample on human rights, disregard constitutions.

Yes, little tyrants, big tyrants, are pretty much the same,
Some will oppress via the state, and others, in Heaven’s name.
It’s a matter of degrees, or how far they’re up the chain,
Yes, little tyrants, big tyrants, within their own domain.

There’ll always be such tyrants, such leaders who’ve gone astray,
Who, sadly, will manipulate, mislead, indulge in foul play.
Hence, there’s a need for caution, in regards to those who lead,
Lest we aid folk we shouldn’t, and help evil to succeed.
