GOD'S PAINTBRUSH
By M. Linda Steffey

God took His loving paintbrush
And painted earth and sky
Many colors are His creatures
And I guess He knows just why...

His universe is velvet black
The stars are silver, bright
His harvest moon is orange
And other times pale white...

He colored blue-green the ocean
Many shades the sky above
Gave black stripes to His zebra
Brown feathers the mourning dove...

He stroked lush green in summer's trees
The gold and reds in fall
Some creatures He gave bright colors
And some aren't bright at all...

I love His fragile butterfly
The hushed hues of His dawn
The beauty He have tigers
The spots He gave the fawn...

I love colors He gave His peoples
All over His dear earth...
Each of us are different
But each one of us have worth!

Red man, black, white and yellow
Brown man...short or tall
Inside we all have feelings
Not really different at all...

Loving God with Thy paintbrush
For Thy colors I am thankful...
Without Thy many shades of life
Our earth would be just dull....
