I have Faith my reward is in Heaven,
Lord..
For my color down here has no worth
Mankind's Love is not blind
So no Peace will I find...
I was hated long before my birth!

I have Faith I'll be equal in Heaven,
Lord...
As a female I am kept in my place
'Round the earth it's the same
To all men we're a dame
Here we're valued for figure and face!

I know I'll be Loved up in Heaven,
Lord...
My Religion down here is not "right"
Unconditional love
Is found only above
No prejudice survives in Thy sight!

I know I'll be Sacred in Heaven,
Lord....
For Thy Spirit is fractured in me
Slaughtered, shot at and used
Starved, beaten, abused
In the air, on the earth, in the sea!

When all of us get up to Heaven,
Lord....
We will all rejoice in our worth
For how precious all Life
'Way from man's hate and strife...
For there's surely no Heaven on Earth!
